The other day I had a very nice neighbor bring me some homemade apple pie. Normally I would have graciously said thank you, closed the door, and walked directly to the trash and deposited it. This time I didn’t do that. I felt “safe” with this woman cooking and sharing some of her food. We have said “hi” back and forth and had a few exchanges that made me feel okay about her. She just returned from a trip to Japan, where she is from, and was happy that I watched her place. Of course, I didn’t really watch it, but I suppose had I seen flames licking out of the windows I would have called 911.

Anyhow, I did write a nice little thank you card and placed it on her door yesterday. I came home today and found an equally nice thank you card on my door. Included in the card was a handwritten note that I just had to share! I really like the attempt at …..well just read it.
